Sweden international Mattias Jonson joined the Canaries on the eve of the 2004-05 Barclays Premiership campaign.
The 31-year-old former FC Brondby man agreed a two-year deal with City and made his debut on the opening day of the season at home to Crystal Palace.
Comfortable on either flank, or even as a centre-forward, Mattias played in every one of his country's Euro 2004 games as the Swedish side progressed to the quarter-finals before going out to Holland on penalties.
A strong and pacy frontman, a lot was expected of Mattias upon his arrival at Carrow Road, but like so many foreign imports he struggled to make an impact during the Canaries' opening games of the season. He adjusted to the pace of the English game as the season progressed, however, and his commitment to the Canary cause - which was typified by playing on with a nasty head injury sustained against Liverpool - has seen him become a firm favourite with the fans.
