Player Profile Adam Drury
This former Peterborough United left-back made his 200th league appearance for Norwich in their final match of the season, against Wolves. One of the best defenders outside of the Premiership, very few right-wingers get the better of Adam. Solid in the tackle, he is also very adept at denying his opponent the opportunity to get crosses in and is more than useful in the air, having occasionally played at centre-back. He enjoys moving forward and has formed an excellent left flank partnership with Darren Huckerby, but failed to add to his five career league goals during 2005-06. Official 2006-07 Norwich City FC Handbook After enjoying three-and-a-half years of outstandingly consistent form - which were backed up by the Player of the Year award in 2002-03 and lifting the Nationwide First Division Championship trophy in 2004 - the Canaries' return to the top flight of English football certainly proved to be a challenging one for Adam Drury. Adam joined the Club from Peterborough United in March 2001 and immediately solved the Canaries' long-running left-back problems. A quick, decisive and determined defender, Adam has improved year-on-year since arriving at Carrow Road. After captaining the Club to promotion in 2003-04, Adam suffered a loss of form at the end of 2004 and for the first time in his Canary career was dropped from the first team. As many expected, with Adam being the model professional, he soon regained his form and returned to the team a better player. The attacking side of Adam's game has continued to improve and it was fitting reward for his determined efforts in winning back his place that it was he who headed home City's late equaliser in the thrilling 4-4 Carrow Road match with Middlesbrough.
