Ian Henderson

Date of Birth:24/01/1985
Place of Birth:Thetford, England
Position:Striker
Previous Club(s):None
Squad No(s):22
Signed:15/12/2001

This Norfolk born striker has graduated through the Norwich City Academy set-up to end last season with 75 senior appearances to his name. A regular member of various England age group sides up to under-20 level, he prefers to play up front with his back to goal, where his lively running off the ball combined with his fiercely competitive nature make him a difficult player to play against. Most of Ian's senior appearances for Norwich have come on the right-hand side of midfield where he combines his natural attacking instincts with a real appetite for hard work when chasing back to help his defence. Scored just one goal in 2005-06, an excellent finish at Brighton early on in the campaign.

Ian Henderson was the first player to come from the Club's Academy and play first team football for the Canaries when he made his debut away to Coventry in October 2002.
The young striker has great enthusiasm for the game and approaches all that he does on the pitch in a competitive manner.
He enjoyed a productive season during the Canaries' 2003-04 championship-winning campaign, starting 14 Nationwide First Division games ad scoring four goals.
Frustratingly for Ian, his 2004-05 season was dogged by a series of niggling injuries and he was limited to just four substitute appearances for the first team.
Despite a lack of club action he continues to remain involved with England at Under-20 level, where he tends to play in his referred role as a striker.
He was included in the England Under-20 squad for the Toulon Tournament and will be looking to use that as a spring board for a successful 2005-06 season at club level.
